For a time I really liked the convenience of Amazon, and the ability to discover products from millions of sellers and have them delivered to my door quickly. But one question I started asking this year , especially after getting into #BetOnMainStreet, was what changes when you don't have any relationship with the people you do business with? What would it be like to be intentional about shopping locally?
This story wasn't quite a Bet On Main Street story, since it happened in an IHOP while we were returning from the clinic to get an exam done. We were making our way out of town, going down one of those "developer strips" lined with big box stores and chain restaurants, and at the time I figured nothing special would happen.
We've gotten a few questions about what it means to "Pay Cash and Tip Big," and whether using a card or check is included in #BetOnMainStreet.
In this post we're going to answer those questions, but in brief, remember this:
Do local business in any way that works!
